The power is back on after four days (Thurs night) ... yeah!!! I forgot to add in my previous post that we had a 70 foot douglas fir from our yard come down right on my neighbors fence. It couldn't have hit any better as it fell right between the two posts, missed their back porch / house, and just wiped out the one 4 x 8 section. Thanks to this forum I now have the right power and air tools to fix this pretty quickly!!!

All in all we're pretty lucky as there are over 100 people in the hospital with carbon monoxide sickness, one woman who died when water rose to the top of her basement apartment and she couldn't get out, and a number of people killed by falling trees.

I think the only things we haven't exeperienced this year is another earthquake and a volcano errupting. Hopefully Mt. Saint Helens will hold together and the ground doesn't move any time soon. And to think just last week I was worried about cutting boards being safe that I posted up here .. it's amazing how your priorities can shift completely over night.

Here in the southern part of OR, we got hit really hard with wind. The rain was heavy for a short time, but we did okay at my place. A lot of power poles were knocked down all around the area.
