I have the Jet 12" bandsaw and like it a lot. It's well made and has plenty of power. I will consider Jet for future tools purchases.

I have a Jet contractor TS (JWTS-10JF if I recall correctly). Love it! Upgraded some things though: Incra 52" rail system, herculift and link-belt. None of that was because of problems with the factory equipment, I just like techno-toys, I mean, techno-tools.

If I had the space, I would buy a second Jet TS.

I have their 20" bandsaw, floor-standing drill press and oscillating spindle sander. All great tools, well made and well finished. Plenty of power, not the cheapest, but I'd buy them again in a flash.

Jet is a well respected name...it's actually associated with Powermatic, but is not quite as highend as PM...more along the lines of Grizzly and GI. Like many names they put out dozens of models...most are very competitive. It's hard to judge one model based on another though...most of their tools are cast iron machinery type tools. The saw you bought is a fairly new model and doesn't have alot of history yet, but from the literature, specs, and price, it looks ok to me.

I have a Jet lathe, air cleaner and drum sander (performax) and am happy with all of them.
There are several reports, check on Woodnet, about the Jet tablesaws with magnetic starters deciding to start on their own, which is very not-good. Mag starters usually prevent this but in these cases it's the opposite.

I have the Jet 12" BS which is the best 12" on the market, IMO. I have used and have good feelings about the spindle sander, drill press, mortiser. 6" jointer and their 20" BS which would come in slightly behind my first choice of the new Steel City 20" BS in that price range.

There are worst choices to be had...

                Regards...

I have the Jet 14" BS, 17" DP and midi lathe.
                  Very high quality.
A little spendy but I am very happy with them.

I have the midi lathe, jointer, DC, and air filter. I wouldn't replace any of them. I have the craftsman 22124 hybrid saw..... If I were doing it over, I'd get the JET cabinet saw (and I will do just that if I ever get a detached shop).
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Thanks for all the replies. Im new to woodworking and am starting to get some equipment. This Jet is my first ts, havnt used it yet but for the price it seems to be a quality made piece. I normally work on cars so I have alot of auto tools namely Craftsman, which I have found out doesnt made great ww tools.
