Besides the hollywood celebrities in TLC,HGTV or DIY networks do you know any hollywood celebrities that are into woodworking? I have one:
Harrison Ford

I met Fred Mac Murry and his wife in the Denver airport in the early 60s. I was in uniform and going home on leave they approched me and sat down to talk what a super couple.
Jimmy Carter, but I know that doesn't count as a Hollywood celeb. I have seen him in FWW among other publications. I think he had a shop built at Camp David, but I could be wrong on that.
I've heard that Harrison Ford was a carpenter on the set of Star Wars and was asked to fill in and read a part...the rest is history.
That's close. As I recall, he was hired to do some work at George Lucas' office, and while some other hopeful actor was reading for a part, Ford was asked to put down his tools and read another character's lines, just to give the hopeful someone to play against. This was long before Star Wars ... remember that Ford was in American Graffiti, another George Lucas movie, playing the guy who drove the yellow Ford coupe.
I've always wondered whether the carpentry scene in Witness was included at Ford's request. He did indeed look very competent (which he apparently is).
