    - A team who's only loss of the season is the last game will not be the highest ranked of the one-loss teams at the end of the season.

USC lost to an unranked 8-4 team a month ago.
Michigan lost to the #1 team a week ago.
Florida lost to the #11 team over a month ago.

IMHO, USC should be no higher than #4 now.

Wasn't the BCS supposed to take care of all of this?
I've noticed this trend as well and it cannot be supported by the statistical data crunched by the computers.

I'm not really sure which team is the genuine #2 and I'm not convinced anyone else knows either. The NCAA can't hide its head in the sand forever. It's time to put an end to the Bowl Crime Syndicate.

Oh yes, I am ecstatic that my East Carolina University Pirates are back to their winning ways and bowl-bound!

The BCS show is on in a half-hour. Looks like that USC - Michigan debate will be handled on the field.

I am also for a playoff system. The BCS is a bad system, that only leads to
controversy. I think 16 teams would be a lot of games though, I would go with 8 teams.

Michigan lost to #1. Why does that make them #3?? If Florida lost to #11 shouldn't they be #12 or lower? It has always griped me in the polls, although it didn't happen to Michigan earlier this year, when #1 beats #2 in the last moments of a game, #2 usually drops several spots in the polls. Shouldn't #1 beat #2 in a close game?

I see the other side too though, Michigan had their shot, so give Florida a chance. I'm just sorry that the big 12 didn't get a shot this year.

I want December Madness to go along with March Madness!

Sorry about going #1 and #2 all over this post. Rant over!

Stop the Madness; Have a Tournament

I suppose the BCS is better than the old non-sysem it replaced, but only marginally. I can see both sides of the argument regarding a Michigan-OSU rematch. That being said it only goes to prove the need for a playoff system. I would think you could start with a four-team tournament for the first couple of years. This would give an opportunity to find out whether unanticipated problems arise. Then expand it to eight teams. Sixteen team may be an option further down the road.
