Picked Up My New 2007 Silverado Yesterday

My 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax diesel, that I ordered way back in mid-september, finally arrived and I picked it up yesterday - it sure is fun to drive. Here's a couple of pics:

Looks like a fun ride Rick. Best of luck with her.
    How about some interior shots?

Thanks, Greg. It's a 6.5 ft. short box. I could have got the regular 8' box with the Crew Cab but it just felt like I was driving a long limousine. I really didn't like either the looks of it or the driving. So, I opted for the short-box which is just fine for what I plan on doing which is pulling a 5th wheel.

If I ever need to haul anything that requires a longer box than 6.5' - then I have an 8' utility trailer I can hook-up and use that.

Here's the only interior pic I have right now:

I bought the GM equivalent.. well, not a Diesel, not 4WD... but the Sierra Crew 1500.. and a 2005 (bought new). Love mine except for one thing... and apparently it's common in the Chevy and GM equivalents...

As you get some miles on it, listen for a clicking or clunking in the front end as you turn corners... sounds like a shock mount (loose) or maybe a pitman arm or drag link.

It may not affect 4WD units... but listen for it... when you get it (if)... get thee to the dealer and complain... The local chevy dealer tried a fix on a friend's silverado by drilling the Steering wheel shaft and tapping for a zerk... helped some... I'm taking mine into the GM dealer and see what they try for mine. There's really nothing loose, apparently... It just sounds like it...

                  Hmmm.

Nice Truck! I prefer Summit White, shows a bit less dirt... though Silver a close second! Enjoy it!

I hope you didn't let any of that 2 feet of snow get on it on the weekend Rick!

With that diesel you are gonna notice a difference in towing. Till he took it off the road early last year my dad had both a diesel and gas truck on the road. I hauled the same loads with both of them and there was a huge difference.

Yeah, my neighbor has an otherwise identical (except colour) 2006 model, which was an upgrade from a gas engine. Hauls a big fifth wheel around all over North America. Nothing like a diesel for torque.

Nice truck, Rick. Very pretty, in a macho sort of way!

Erm, you know you'll probably need a sliding hitch for towing a fifth wheel with a short-bed, right?

Sweeet!! I'm reeeaally jealous. My F-150 is 9yrs and 94K miles - still in very good shape - but *I'm* ready for a new one and the Chevys are looking better in every way.

                              Hi Bob,

Ain't that the truth! It hasn't left my driveway since last Friday afternoon! I hoping the weather forecasts are right and we get back to good old rain by Friday or Saturday. This snow can stay in eastern Canada as far as I'm concerned!
