    Post-election blues

Actually, I'm not gonna say anything about the election except thank god it's over. All those phony TV ads, stupid calls from the campaigns, etc. Maybe we'll get a few months til the next election starts.

Now, what I really wanted to talk about was, SNOW--we're gonna get 4-6 inches today. I'm not ready for it--it was 70 degrees on Wed., yesterday I was walking around in Madison, WI, in shirtsleeves. And my snowblower is stuck in the garage behind a whole bunch of wood and boxes and stuff.

In case you can't tell, that's the Mississippi River in the background.

On the positive side, tomorrow we fly to Atlanta and Chattanooga for a week. Should be nice and temperate in the sunny South--high temp. today is 77 degrees.

Heck Doc, it was over 90 here yesterday! I was sweating in the shop over a piano and had to stop, clean up and turn on the fans. Probably drop 40 or 50 degrees in an hour before too long.

The Mechanical Engineering students here on campus at UW-Madison raise money every year by doing tune-ups, blade sharpening, and oil-changes on push-style lawn mowers and snow blowers ($25 each) . Wouldn't you know it, they're doing it this weekend. I just had them take each of mine last night. I guess I'll be shoveling, unless they get it back to me today. Only rain here so far, but it's supposed to turn into snow later.

Here in St. Louis it's something like 75 deg outside (haven't been outside for hours, so I don't know the exact temp) and we may have snow flurries tomorrow morning.

Right now in my classroom it's an easy 85.... Blatzafratzin' large-building HVAC....
