    Not for the squeemish

First-year students at Texas A&M's Vet School were receiving their first anatomy class, with a real dead cow. They all gathered around the surgery table with the body covered with a white sheet.

The professor started the class by telling them, "In vet medicine it is necessary to have two important qualities as a doctor: The first is that you not be disgusted by anything involving the animal body. For an example, the Professor pulled back the sheet, stuck his finger in the butt of the dead cow, withdrew it and stuck it in his mouth. "Go ahead and do the same thing," he told his students . The students freaked out, hesitated for several minutes. But eventually took turns sticking a finger in the anal opening of the dead cow and sucking on it.

When everyone finished, the Professor looked at them and told them "The second most important quality is observation. I stuck in my middle finger and sucked on my index finger. Now learn to pay attention."

Good one! With Aggies you would need to demo at least twice for them to figure it out...

My parents own a small farm. Several years ago they asked me to come over because the vet was comming out to examine a pregnant cow and my folks had to leave on real short notice. The vet that came was actually a PYT veterinary student. I wondered at one point why she needed a glove with a sleeve that went all the way up to her shoulder. I caught on only after she lubed it all up. She gave me her number but I never called - kept thinking about her examining that cow.

I asked one of our medical assistants who works on her family farm about the long gloves they use when birthing cattle, etc. She looked at me funny and said, "What gloves?" She was serious.

Yet another reason I'd never make it as a farmer...

Just sent this to my GF in KC

I sent this to my friend in KC

I have a Lady-friend in KC that works for the VA medical facility as an Urgent Care Nurse, I'm interested in finding out what her reaction to this story is and If she's had any similar experiences.

                    Could prove interesting! LOL

Just be happy she was a vet in training, NOT a proctollogist!
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Reminds me of watching a reality show they had on a couple of years ago called Cowboy U on CMT and it was taking 8 people from the city and making them into "cowboys" in something like 4 weeks or something like that and one of the things that they had to do was put on one of those gloves and check a cow. I laughed so hard because the first one up was a prissy woman who I thought was going to lose her lunch.

Being a country girl and being around cows and animals, when the vet would come out and get those gloves I knew what they were going to do, I had a friend whom I had to explain it to one day and when I finished all she said was "OUCH...Does it hurt them"...

C'mon Jeff - it's Wisconsin. Nobody's going to waste $3.45 on a pair of rubber gloves. That's 3 drafts with $0.45 left over for some cheese.
