IE 7 Help

I have the new IE7, which I love.

However, I cannot figure out how to change the settings so that a new window always opens full size rather than minimized.

Try Tools, Internet Options, Tab Settings. At the bottom of the dialog box are the settings for links.

I have that set to open a new window for each new link. But, the new windows are still small. I want them to open as a full screen. Any suggestions?

If you click on "page" over at the right end of the toolbars or click "ctrl+N" a new window should open same as your current window size.

My problem is: When I first click on any IE icons, the window opens 1/2 size. After I expand it to full screen size, any new links I click on also open 1/2 sized and must be expanded.

Are you expanding them with the upper right corner "full screen" box? Try expanding by dragging the window(s) to the size you want. This a known Win XP bug. Now, I don't use IE (FireFox beats it hands down) but this just might work.

Open only one window, expand it to full size using the Maximize square beside the X in the upper right corner. Then use the X to close the window. When you open a new window it will be full sized. Windows remembers the size of the last window closed and uses that size when you open a new window.

John's right about the sizing. Just open one window and maximize.

Just wondering though - are you using the new 'tab' feature? If not, you should give it a try because it will always open a new page in a full window, o.k. You can have several 'tabs' open at once. This way you only have to start a browser session one time. If you haven't tried it yet, here's how it works:

1. Click on the IE icon to start the browser
2. Expand the browser to full-size by clicking on the maximize icon in the upper right hand corner beside the red X
3. Then on the toolbar just above the window you will see a small 'blank square' next to the tab with the name of the page you are viewing(probably your home page)
4. Place your cursor over the small square and you will see it changes to 'new tab' - click it and a new full-size window will open with the message 'you've opened a new tab'
5. Then just click on your 'favourites' select the page you want to view, click it, and it will appear in the new tab
6. Do this as many times as you want and then just use the tabs to move back and forth between the pages.

If the above suggestions don't work- you can try the old ie way of fixing this issue- since it's been around from the first ie version.
1)Open ie- it doesn't matter what size.
2)Open a link in another window (window 2)
3)Close the initial window
4)Drag the sides of window 2 to a size that you like. The maximize button used to not 'stick' for this setting, so you'll have to drag it to a maximized size probably.
5)Close that window.

From now on the 'open in new window' links will be the size you made window 2.

Paul & Parnelli's suggestion finally worked. Instead of using the upper right box to expand, I drug it out with the mouse and viola, full sized windows.
