Thinking about PT work at LV

Our local LV is hiring PT staff and I was speaking with my fave cashier about the possibility of weekend/evenings only. She said quite a few people do it just to maintain a discount.
Are you ready for this...employee discount is 30%.
Don't know if that is on everything or not but can you imagine...D4R for $363 CDN.
Spoke with LOML and she gave me the green light.

The only problem I see is customers annoying you while you're trying to browse.

They couldn't do that when I'm browsing in the warehouse.
If you've never been to a LV store, they have a different approach. Everything is on display only. You write down your order (or computer if so inclined) and give it to a clerk. The clerk then goes back in the warehouse and picks your order.
So the problem would be getting me out of the warehouse and commenting to customers "you lucky #$%^".
Actually if I got lucky I would be one of the couple of guys who walk the floor helping people.

Go for it. I don't think I've ever encountered anyone in the Vancouver store that didn't appear happy to be there.

The Rockler store in Indiana has a waiting list of people that want to work there.

i used to manage an outdoor gear store, and some of my best employees were customers who only did the night/weekend thing. i say give it a whirl. worst thing that happens you realize you absolutely love it and quit your day job. (my entire management team was former part time customers who were recruited and loved it so much they had to be there more than 20hrs a week)

She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Sounds like an excellent way to spend evenings to me.

I only see one problem with an idea like that. Talking to the employees at my local Woodcraft confirms this. If you work at a store like that, how do you get out with ANY of your paycheck? It would be hard to not spend more than you make there...

Ahhh, if only that could be me....

Would you at least be able to post to the "Bargain Alerts" from work?

I already spend a chunk of my real paycheck there.
My sales pitch to hire me was going to be...I'll work for tools.
                          Let's see
                          4 days/month = 32 hours x $10/hr (probably low) = $320/month-taxes = 250/month.
That pays for about half of the last months purchases (xmas gift stuff) but when the 30% is figured in I might break even.

I will need to move some tools to the basement.
