Wish it wasn't so far for us to drive. Would love to go.

I googled Ellensburg. Looks like about 100 miles to Seattle plus a longish ferry ride. Seems a lot closer. I can see Mt Rainier from work.

        Vancouver Island Woodworking Show

I went on the Friday. Had a good time; it's the first one I've been to so I don't know how it compares to others. Enjoyed the demos and salesmen who were as interested in showing and explaining as selling.

I went Saturday. I was feeling sort of crappy so I don't think I got the full effect of the show. It was similar to the last Victoria one I went to (maybe 3 years ago?) - not as good as the Vancouver ones I've been to. This one would have been quite small if you removed all the router bit displays. I watched a few of the demos and enjoyed all except the Lie-Nielson dovetail kit demo. Their saw looked nice but the demo/salesguy really rubbed me the wrong way. Enough that I would probably never consider buying their products. I talked quite a bit to the Jessem rep about the Mast-R-[Lift,Fence,Table,etc]. What a great setup. I wish I could justify spending that kind of cash. There were some deals to be had. I ended up buying an end vise from Lee Valley - free shipping plus a 6% discount. I'll go again next year.
