    There was a time when I would go to bed dreaming of a winning bid on Ebay for a Stanley #1 handplane or a #602. Thanks to Prozac and my wife's threats of divorce, those dreams are a distant memory.

      Uh, I was just taking a bit off the headboard......
      She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

          I find that cartoon highly offensive as well as unrealistic! From the proportions, the plane pictured is obviously a common #4 or 5 and no self-respecting woodworker would be that obsessive about it.

          A prime condition #2 or a #1 might be a different situation...

            that, and he has it on bottom, which is damaging to the blade. he should have it laying on his side.
