    Wood Gloat!

    Actually 2 wood gloats.

First my dad and I went to pick up some free lumber that had come from a barn. We weren't expecting much. What we ended up getting was a stack of yellow pine about 10' long, 5' wide and almost 2' high. It is a mix of several 12" wide 4/4 stock, some 8x8 posts and then some narrower stock that is mixed 8/4 and 4/4 stock. He is putting up an old tobacco sorting shed and will use the wide pine as flooring (for the period look) and will keep the posts. He's already said I can have my pick of the rest as a finder's fee.

Next one of my younger brothers is going through a 'what do I want to do with my life' phase and dropped of about 100 bf of cherry and some smaller pieces of mahogny, red oak, maple and a mystery wood. He says if I have projects I can use it on, go ahead. Then he mentioned that in the stuff he is storing he has a scroll saw that I can set up if I want to...
