    Retired for the second time

I turned in my badge and keys today, I'm now officially retired from my job as a Port of entry Inspector for the Idaho Transportation Department. We will receive a big payment on our house tomorrow, and will be off to Tennessee in a couple of weeks. Big yard sale tomorrow and all weekend to get rid of things it will be too expensive to move. I took some of my mediocre tools to the auction and am really looking forward to some better tools to replace them with when we get there (like a Griz G0555 band saw w/riser!). I probably won't be around here for about a moth or so, going to take our time crossing the country.

Hey, that's great! Coincidentaly, LOML and I were just discussing retirement a few minutes ago. We're a ways away yet...

How'd you decide to go to Tennessee? I thought people went to Idaho when they retired!

Two things that are important to keep in mind Paul, first, retirement is 27/7/365. No weekends or holidays off, you just got to do it.
Second and perhaps most important is the definition of retirement:
"Retired means getting up in the morning with nothing to do, and going to bed with only half of it done!"

Good luck and (since I note that you said "...for the second time." Lets all hope that it sticks this time. ;~)

Paul, I've never met you, but I'll think about you tomorrow morning on my 45 minute commute, the first time someone stupid says something stupid to me, at 7:15 when I realize I have only been at work for 15 minutes but seems like 15 hours...

Congrats, I am sure you have earned it. Enjoy!

Tennessee? Hey, you got to keep your eye out for Elvis. There's reports he was seen walkin' around Memphis.

As for moving, it's not what you're leaving, but where you're going.

                    Congratulations Paul!

I retired in April and have really enjoyed it. The days are way too short to do all i want to do...but...there is tomorrow.

BTW, welcome to the south. Can you say "Hi y'all" ?

                      Paul,
Sorry that I never got to meet you at the POE! Hope you enjoy your retirement in a warmer climate.

Hopefully your replacement at the scales will not hold up our drivers.
