    Thunderbird

I use gmail. I am thinking of switching back to Outlook instead of web-based client so I can start using the calendar, to-do lists, etc. Will Thunderbird do this? My intial research says it is just for mail and I really want a one-stop shop. It is hard enough for me to stay organized as it is.

I don't think Thunderbird does anything but mail. Outlook and outlook express are the portal for most computer virus problems (according to my nerd son who works in the field).

      Don,

So I've heard. However until about 8 mos ago I used Outlook daily before switching to web only. Never had any problems. But I really want the calendar/todos, etc back. My Dad uses it with no issues. My thinking is a little common sense goes a long way.

I will look at thunderbird a little more. Maybe there are some extensions or something that will do what I want.

I was in similar situation, now have gone to google calendar, works fine. Lets me get to my personal stuff from work.

You can do the near same thing as outlook with Firefox, Thunderbird, and Sunbird (calendar) on your system.

At one point there was a calendar plugin that worked with Thunderbird, I'm not sure if it is developed anymore or if it was discontinued for Sunbird.

I personally feel that even though they are seperate programs, the integration between the Mozilla apps is very good. I'd try out the Thunderbird/Sunbird combo before saying that it is no good because it's different programs.

          Also, check out this link:
