The Tundra Man Goes To Yellowstone

A couple of weeks ago I took a four-day solo motorcycle trip to Yellowstone. I wrote up this trip report complete with pictures for a couple of motorcycle forums I frequent, but I thought some people here may like to see it as well. As usual, I went into great details about the whole adventure.

4 days, 2328 miles, 51 hours in the saddle: http://www.TundraMan.com/Yellowstone/Yellowstone.cfm

If you've never been to Yellowstone, you need to plan a trip some day. Of course, IMHO the only way to see it is on two wheels!

    Very nice ride Terry.
Sent the link to my folks as I know they will maybe want to use your guide of things to see. ('98 triked GW with tent trailer, been coast to coast in Canada, Alaska twice, Yellowknife)

Good looking bike and great narrative. I'm jealous. My only real vacation I considered a getaway was a circular trip from So Florida through Georgia, Cincinnati, Des Moines, Kansas City, and back to So Florida on a Honda Goldwing dresser. Visited friends in those cities, and it was very relaxing. Last day/night on the road did around 900 miles, and learned what white line fever really was.

Not being a biker myself I was really interested to see what a long distance ride would look like. Makes me wish I had the balance, skill and coordination (not to mention guts) to ride one, that looks like a fantasy trip. Thanks for letting all of us non-bikers live vicariously through your exploits.

            Wow! Nice travel journal!

            a. You really payed $2.02 for gas in Cody?!! I'm going there for gas from now on.

            2. I'm disappointed you didn't show us any pictures of your sausage lips.

iii. How did you talk Amy into letting you go on your own vacation?

            Thanks for sharing, Terry.

P.S. Saw you and Al on the Argus Leader's website in that video piece. Pretty cool.

Haven't been on a vacation in years (either 81 or 83, there is argument about which year it was). I always figured the day I made it to the caldera, would be the day it erupts!

Sounds like a neat trip. Do take the time to go back and really see Yellowstone someday. I spent a week there when I was a lot younger and feel like I barely scratched the surface. I've always wanted to go back but hadn't thought much about it lately until today.

LOML and I were on a long drive today as our house was being shown and we passed a rental RV on the highway. I remarked to her that someday I'd like to fly out to Wyoming, rent an RV and go to Yellowstone for a week. Then I come home tonight and read your story and look at those fabulous pictures. Very interesting.

                  Thanks for sharing.
