My weekend, part 2, the good part

So after part 1 and then having a dead battery couple hours later, I thought my weekend was shot.
My purpose for making this trip was to pick up some family heirloom furniture (dining room suite from 40s) ad I picked this weekend to take in the Bluegrass Festival.
Prior to going up I had made contact with "Brian in Dawson Creek" on Canadian Woodworking forum.
Turns out I used to work with his brother back in '84.

Anyways, the festival was basically rained out, so I called Brian and went over to visit him to see what kind of stuff he does.

    WOW!!!
I walked in to a veritable art gallery of bandsaw boxes, flat boxes, custom living room furniture of various artisan styles, bent willow furniture and any other thing he and his wife could think of.

Here is some examples of his work. His avatar picture is his own creation inspired by a similar full size piece. He SHOULD have a website, but doesn't yet because he's only been at this for 4-5 years.

This is an almost finished spice cabinet. The picture doesn't do it justice. That top is absolutely stunning.

BTW, his boxes are now all over the world because he sells them at the local art gallery and Dawson Creek has huge amounts of tourists come through in summer.

50 points if you know why.

Anyways, Brian wasn't aware of this site so I gave him the address and hopefully he will join.
    Brian

Does this tourism have anything to do with a popular TV show by the same name?

I must say, that is one really cool project!
Just think of something witty and pretend you saw it here.

It probably has more to do with the fact that it is the beginning point of the Alaska Highway, I've been through there six times so far!

        Paul gets the 50 points.
I grew up there and back in the 70s/80s I think Airstream trailers outnumbered cars in the summer time.

Thanks for the kind words Brian, and the link to this site. I hope to drop in from time to time … I don't own a BT3, so am I off to a bad start already?

If anybody's bored and feels like doing some clicking here is a link to my photo storage place on the web, a highly unorganized jumble of photos of some of my projects and other junk. Like Brian says I need a web page but I'm not sure where to start. I would think some sort of thumb software for photos would be a start … any ideas or tips?

            Brian,
You are just another Darksider as far as we all go here. There are plenty of them.

Welcome aboard Brian. As Brian (the other one) says there are plenty non BT users here (no one is perfect).

Really nice projects on your gallery, of course I had seen some of them in the past. Please continue sharing your work with us
