Congratulations, Floyd Landis! AWESOME RIDE! Truly an effort that will become a standout entry in the big book of cycling lore.

It was a great race! The sprinters' week was a load of fun, with Robbie McEwen showing his class. The Pyrenees and transition stages had way more excitement than I had thought they would.

And the Alpine week lived up to the pre-race billing as the test that would make the difference. But you couldn't have predicted Floyd's rides on stages 16 and 17. What absolute drama.

Landis' fighting spirit has been sorely missed in the corporate era of micro-managed excellence. To lose so spectacularly, then win so triumphantly really is what sport is about, IMO. Then, with everything on the line to produce a top time trial just about made me stand up and shout.

Heck, maybe I'll even get back on my bike!

Ya, they are going nuts on the news around here. His parents live across the river and they have been having some kind of shin digs (sp?). Of course they are pretty tame as they are practicing Mennonites.
His parents are so pround of him, however with their background they are giving a lot of credit to God. Most of the banners, etc that they have are reminders to people about giving credit to God.
I am not a religious person, but they did it very respectfully and not over the top and I really liked them and their message.

Very fun tour, congrats to Floyd, Robbie, Rasmussen, and Cunego. Cunego is going to be scary in a few years.
