    WHEW ! Don't use Hotmail with BT3Central !

I have a bellsouth email address since they are my ISP at home. Always used that with my BT3Central account. Changed it yesterday to my hotmail account because I have 250MB of space there for free. But suddenly I couldn't post any new threads !

Finally figured it out -- I never received the confirmation / re-activation email from BT3Central at the new email address. Changed it back in the control panel just now and POOF, email from BTCentral, clicked the link and back in business.

    WHEW !
I was about to burst at the seams. I see now how addicted I am to this forum !

You might want to think about a gmail account (>2GB free email space) from google. Personally, I find it so much better than hotmail.

I think they may still only be by invitation only but it's really just semantics since your bound to know someone who already has a gmail account and they can invite you. If not and you want to sign up to try it out, shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll send you an invitation.
Don't be stupid, the universe is watching.

Ditto what Jay said Steve - I get all my BT3 and other woodworking mail through Gmail, keeps the home account free and I get to wallow in my woodworking stuff without confusing things. If you want to try it, email me and I'll send an invitation - not sure they still require it, but if they do let me know.

If you check your spam folder on the hotmail/yahoo/gmail accounts you will probably find the confirmation email that you are looking for. Most of the "free" email systems filter the confirmation emails as spam.

Absolutely good advice. The only real problems we have when sending plans to people, other than outdated email addresses, is with Hotmail and Yahoo. You just never know where they are going to put an incoming email. There can also be a long delay in delivery of emails at various times.
Also, some think they have an automatic limiter that simply drops emailswith attachments whe n their serevers reach a certain capacity. We did a number of tests during the peak hours and had several emails with attachments not appear at Hotmail and Yahoo addresses, in any of the box options they provide.
Another case of getting what you pay for.....though we have not tried, nor have any bad experience so far with Gmail.

Also, Gmail has POP enabled which allows you to use Microsoft Outlook or other mail readers so you don't have view mail as web mail. When you do POP newer versions of Outlook will advise when things have gone into junk mail folder and will take you to them. Older versions of Outlook simply put mail identified as junk by gmail into the trash.

Thanks for the gmail tip guys. I had a friend invite me. All set up now and I feel like a new man....haha.

I did go back and look in the "junk" email folder on hotmail. Was empty. So not sure what the issue is there. But regardless, it showed right up with gmail so I made that move. No issues now.
