My very first reaction to the headline was "prove it". Then I was filled with a sense of relief that the product line was not dead.

I hope Ryobi continues with this particular niche in the tablesaw market and doesn't throw in the towel, going only with the lower end and job site models.

                  Already a Ryboi 3200

Well, it looks like there already is a Ryobi 3200, but its not very good at cutting wood.

What are you a freakin' Experimental Psychologist in training?

My wife loved Everyone Loves Raymond. Remember the episode where Robert gives them IQ score? And says Debra is so much higher than Ray, then turns around and says he got them mixed up and Ray was the brilliant one. That was a great Psych class he was taking.

Sick is right, for possibly getting people to go to Home Depot to check this out. I like my BT3100, but HD as a store is just miserable to go into these days, and it's getting continuously worse. Too bad they don't sell Ryobi at Lowe's.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see HD declare bankruptcy in the near future, the way their business is going with that great CEO of theirs who all their shareholders hate.

With $2.59B in cash, I'd say bankruptcy is not a problem.

What's the shareholders' beef? The stock's a bit off, but the underlying financial performance seems pretty solid.

I think they're mad because HD stock has been stagnant while Lowe's has been going way up. Check out Lowe's stock from 2001-2002 until now, and HD for the same time period. HD has fallen quite a bit from its peak, while Lowe's has increased greatly.

In addition, HD's CEO Nardelli gets 4 TIMES the compensation that Lowe's CEO gets. I know I'd be upset if I hired a guy to run a company, paid him tons of money, and he didn't deliver.

                              Ah. That would do it.

Taking a closer look at the financials (on Yahoo), I may have to take back my previous comment about looking solid.

I see that cash is actually $800M, down from $2.8B two years ago. Long-term debt has risen from $856M to $2.7B over the same period. Receivables are also way up.

With a P/E of ~11 and huge profits it would seem to be undervalued. Executives who can't release value to the shareholders tend to have short lives.
