    New numbers

They rearranged my cable channels (numbers) today. They said it was to organize them better. I can't seem to find anything.. and they don't seem to be organized at all. I read that the hi-def are now all together... so I guess that is the only advantage. I wish I had hi-def!

Actually, I wish tv's were able to be programmed so actual channels were irrelevant. Maybe they already have that in very expensive models.

Make sure you have all the channels programmed in.

For example I had channel 42 edited out (didn't get that channel) So when I advanced I would go from 41 to 43. Later when they added some channels they added something to 42. I didn't get it since I had that channel edited out. Added it, and then everything was fine.

My TV has autochannel programming.... Well my TiVo does. When the lineup changes, the TiVo just changes. Very nice.

I forgot when I watched live TV.

Since I got my Media Center PC setup I practically stopped watching live TV. The MCE knows all shows 2 weeks in advance (a week before TV guide arrives). It records all the shows I and my family want to watch, it is capable of recording 2 channels at once in case there is a conflict, you select shows not channels and watching a 1-hour show takes only 1/2 hour because you can zoom past commercials. The only caviat - do not program it to record all episodes of major shows because there is not a chance you will watch that much TV. At least if you have a hobby.
