This past weekend, my 10 year old James went to the National Kicking Service summer camp at Stetson University. He had handled kick offs for his flag football team last year, but had never kicked field goals. As we are looking for a Pop Warner team for him this year, I figured he probably should get some coaching. Here are some pictures of him during the last day of camp.

Way to go James! That looks like a bunch of fun! Kudos to dad too for not trying to be an expert on field goal kicking. Getting professional help was a smart play on your part.

Great job Dad! I wish my Dad did that for me when I was younger.

I was recruited from my soccer team to kick field goals. I thought I was all that and a bag of potato chips until I went to a kicking camp held by Chuck Nelson. It humbled me and improved my skills. By my senior year my longest was 42yds.

13 of the kickers/punters that were at the camp have received Division 1-A offers. And most of them told James that they wished they had started at 10 years old. By the end of camp, James was hiting 20 yard FG's with consistency. We are trying to get him onto a Pop Warner team. They reward teams that kick PATs with 2 points instead of 1. If they run it in they get 1 point.
