    19 years and counting

Today is our anniversary. I surprised LOML with some flowers at the office, which she told me made her day. (I remembered it, an unusual situation indeed.)

It's hard to believe it's been that long--3 houses, 5 or 6 cars and 4 kids later. Not to mention 3 dogs and a half dozen or so cats. I met her in 1983, and was instantly smitten with her. We went out on April 2 of that year, and after a long, long engagement tied the knot in 1987.

When I think how naive we were back then--well, I can't believe how little we knew about raising a family and having a life together. It's probably good we didn't know what we were getting into! Of course, we're still learning.

In one way she's responsible for my post here, because she encouraged me to take up woodworking and looked the other way when I made a lot of tool purchases. (As opposed to fool purchases.) I have made her a lot of stuff, so I guess she got her money's worth there.

Anyway, she's better than I deserve, and I try not to forget this each and every day. And I hope she doesn't think about it too much...

    Jeff

Congratulations Jeff. that's a nice note.

it gets better and better with time, eh? this is anathema to the way I used to
think before I got married 15 years ago. my wife said she would prove me wrong and she did.

Jeff, Congratulations to both of you! Nice story indeed!
1987 seems to be a good year! My wife and I started dating (we are still dating) back in 87 when we were at school!

Wonderful sentiments and a beautiful gal. Congrats. Call me when you get to 32 yrs - after a 7 yr courtship starting in high school and enduring some brief separations. It's good to marry up, isn't ist!?

Congrats!! The bible says "a good wife is more precious than jewels". It's a lucky man who has one and a smart man who knows it. You seem to fit both groups.

Jeff, looking at the two pictures, I'd agree that she's better than you deserve. :-) Well, maybe it's just that I'm biased in favor of pictures of beautiful women . . .

                      Congratulations to you both!
