Someone posted this to a maillist of which I'm a subscriber. Pretty danged clever, I'd say (click for a larger view).

The picture made me curious, so I did some investigating and found that the Mazda MPV van and the Mazda RX-8 are proportionally very similar in terms of wheelbase vs. overall length. That means they were able to paint on the RX-8 without fiddling too much with its overall proportions. The front and rear fascias are the main visual differences, since they had to follow the shapes of the "host" van. Otherwise, it looks very much like an actual RX-8.

That is pretty cool. Neat concept but it might be better if the RX was painted on the side of another automaker's sports car.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

You might want to ask the person that originally posted the picture how they came across it.

Ya, I used the URL one would naturally think of when trying to access Dicks Sporting Goods. I immediately reported myself to my manager.
