What can we do if HD discontues BT3?

Since we all know that Ryobi doesn't want to discontinue the BT3 but HD may stop distributing it. Maybe Ryobi would be open to manufacturing the saw under a different name for drop shipment.

Maybe exclusively available through BT3Central to finance the site.

Maybe we could have some more input on features and accessories for a next version.

Maybe we could partner up as stock holders to get a project off the ground to save our saw and turn a profit. Cutting HD out of the loop may be a good thing.

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

Why doesn't Ryobi find another channel? Lowes perhaps? I got my saw at Lowes several years ago.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

How do we all know that Ryobi doesn't want to discontinue the saw? Pat

I think they have very likely discontinued it... While all other existing saws show up in the Ryobi 2006 Catalog, BT3x00 doesn't

If they wanted it dead they wouldn't be selling a derivative of it at Sears. It also seems that we have some insidered here that have stated that Ryobi had no plans to discontue the saw but HD has decided to stop carrying it.
Finally no company wants to discontue a product that they have already sunk money into R&D and production. The tools to product are already made.

I have a few ideas, you guys make a decision:

            1. Picket lines
            2. Call the Army
            3. Call the Marines

            hrmm what else..

i don't have an immediate idea on how to go about this, but i think that the first step must be to determine if in fact, ryobi is discontinuing the bt3100, or is it just a hd decision not to carry it anymore.

does anyone know whether the question has been asked yet on the ryobi forum?

I sent an email awhile back directly to Ryobi Customer Service. The reply was that they did not intend to discountine the product. Not sure that really means anything, tho.
