    Don't throw stuff away

So today is LOML's birthday. I gave her a cutting board that mounts under the upper cabinets. She saw it at her parents and liked it. I couldn't find it here anywhere before we left on vacation so decided to make the mounting pieces.

Yesterday I picked up a cutting board and some angle aluminum for the rails. Went looking in my shop for some suitable wood for mounting blocks. Figured I'd give her the wood and let her know I would make some blocks. I found some oak cutoffs from 3 years ago for another project. The rabetts fit the aluminum like they were custom made and the pieces are just the length I needed. LOML loves it and I am the hero for being creative.

Great use of scrap lumber. I just got through throwing some oak cutoffs away.
