    Need some computer help

Call me a "Dummy", as many of you will, (ahem) but "How do you get the icons to appear in your message instead of the subject line on posts"?

      Dave,

If I'm understanding you correctly, when you reply to a post using the "Quote" option, or "Go Advanced" from the "Quick Reply" window, there's a sidebar to the right of the composition window with the available icons ("smilies"). Just click on one when your cursor is where you want the icon.

Of course, if I've not understood your problem, I'm the dummy here!

      Ray.

I think I understand your problem. As far as I know you can't put "post icons" in the body of your message only the "smiles" that are on the right in advanced mode. Although you can link to smiles and the likes from other sites like this.

That one is from www.websmileys.com, there are a lot more sites that have similar stuff and if you look hard enough you might find ones similar to the "post icon" you were wanting to use. The sites will explain how to use the smiles in a post, but basically it's a copy and paste and it comes up as a Image even if its animated.

          Hope this helps.

Got the idea for my avatar from here, but I made it myself. Its a second gen. Camaro.

            <- Like this?

Under the text input box, there is a box labeled "Post icons". You have to go advanced (no quick reply) to make them appear.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Looks like me playing Rainbow six three. The only video game I play, despite my son't giant collection.

Sorry Alex, but it doesn't work. How do you go "Advanced" w/o using quick reply?

When you click on the "Quick Reply", there's a "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the Quick Reply window. I've sent you a PM, BTW, Dave.

Okay, When you are posting a reply, you can't use quick reply. So start quick reply, but click go adavanced, or just click the "post reply" button at the bottom of all the posts. Scroll down past the text box when you have gone advanced, and you will see the buttons I was talking about.

Oh, and what I ment was you can't make the icons appear while in quick reply mode. You have to go advanced first.
