My cable doesn't carry this show to my disappointment. I can see Norm but he gets repetitive quite soon. I am losing interest.

I love "Woodworks" I have about 15 to 20 episodes saved on my TIVO. I was looking at upcoming episodes and it looks like there are two episodes scheduled on my season pass. Boy am I glad I did not delete any of these episodes. I love all of the episodes that I have seen but my favorites were the tour of his shop and his tools. then the show where he showcase all his jigs and showed how he made them.

For the record, there were seven "series" of WoodWorks taped, each with 13 episodes, grand total of 91 shows.

David has been to our local Woodcraft twice in the past year for a series of workshops. We knew in June of last year that his show was cancelled (see my post of june 2005.) DIY was moving to a different area of viewers (re: Scrap bookers.) He didn't film any new shows last year, but DIY rfused to let him out of his contract.

I agree with everyone else, while I never made one of his projects, I did learn a new technique or two. If anyone has the entire set of shows recorded, I would be interested in obtaining a set.

Overall, if you look at DIY, you see very few woodworking shows. They still have Tools and Techniques in the evening, and a turning show on Saturday. I wonder if they are trying to tell us our hobby is over.

I wrote David about his show and here's his answer, I think the reply is from his wife:

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your email. David’s show Woodworks has not been canceled on DIY. He has taped 91 episodes and completed his contract with DIY. Though DIY has not yet asked David to tape new episodes, the 91 episodes continue to be aired. Recently Woodworks has been moved from airing during the week to airing twice on Saturday nights. DIY is always interested to hear viewer comments on programming. If you would like to see the show on more frequently or at different times, please call them at (865) 694-7879 during weekdays. They are located in Tennessee.

David is now focusing on teaching and on producing his own educational DVDs. He has just completed a DVD on Jigs & Fixtures for Curvilinear Woodworking which he is selling at his website for $29.95. He is offering group classes in his workshop/studio here in Santa Rosa and travels across the US teaching.
