    The drought is over!

After 143 days since the last precipitation here in the Phoenix area (Oct. 18), we finally got rain! In fact, it's been raining since about 11:00 last night, which is a torrential downpour for this place.

That "giant sucking sound" in my workshop isn't Ross Peroit -- it's all of my wood swelling...

      Wow!

Real "toad strangler" in Scottsdale. My pool is filling up fast!

Send some my way. I'm going to have to pay to unload my scraps at the dump!

I already had to drain 2" from my pool here in Mesa.

That's what my friend from Mesa calls rain!

We had an even more rare event. Snow!

This will be uninteresting to most everyone, but it's causing quite a lot of conversation here.

Snow on Boney Mountain. Elev. 3100', about 5 miles from the ocean.

SNOW? Is that the white stuff on those hills behind your house?

We don't get no stinking snow!

              LOL!

There was 4" of snow in Cave Creek and Carefree (about 20 miles north of Phoenix) -- first time in 6 years.

I think the excitement is over for a while though. The forecast is for clear weather the rest of this week here. The upcoming major fire season in AZ is still scheduled for this summer.
