I believe he counting on the "more money than brains" working in his favor - pretty common in the area actually.

Go to ebay and make a search. There are people selling parts of BT3100 that total a lot more than a new saw. They also sell BT3100 accessory kits piecemeal - again for a much higher total than a full kit.

It makes sense somewhat - if I don't need entire kit, but just one part of it, I might be willing to pay a couple $$ extra as lomg as I don't have to pay for the whole thing.

Unfortunately, there are a number of people who will buy stuff through E-bay, just because it's easy and they think they are getting a bargain. I know a couple of locals who pick up stuff on sale through the local stores and then sell it for higher than the normal retail price on E-Bay... they do a nice business! Some folks are just crazy I guess!
