    Reputation Icon?

Just curious...how does a members "reputation icon" get changed? Is Sam the only one able to do this? Do all moderator's have the capability to change it?

It's a bit disconcerting to see that a long time member, presumably one who has contributed much, has been degraded. Looks like it takes only one post out of 1,000+ to sully your reputation?

This current ill will towards a frequent poster troubles me, and I know we will get past it. I think that starts with giving members a second chance and realize that while a comment may have been poorly timed, it contained valid point.

Look for the "scales" icon near the top right of every post. Any member may either approve of or disapprove of any given post. Your reputation is your approval rating.

I will second Mike on this one. We all sometimes say things we later regret and in this case it might be a poor selection of words or I am not even sure there is anything to regret. David was speaking out based on his principles, it is possible that his understanding does not match exactly the popular opinion but that does not mean bad things about him. Having an opinion different from others isn't always bad. I would not want my friend's opinion to always match mine - we would have nothing to talk. Debate is often the only way to find out the true wisdom.

I just added to Sam's reputation, strongly approving it! Are you guys saying that I might regret that?

If you hover your mouse over the little box up there on the right, it says folks are on a distinguished road. Now does that mean that your not lost? Does the road wear a smoking jacket? That is a little unusual if you ask me, but I live on a county road anyway.

              A Distinguished Road?

              Hey Lee,

When I hover (and I do hover, maybe it's a NY thing), mine says that I'm going to H**L in a hand basket.

              Is this normal??
