Last Saturday, Feb 25th, I had a mild Stroke (TIA), if there is such a thing.
I had been sitting at the 'puter, blew my nose, got up from the chair and started down the Hallway, towards the Kitchen.
About 1/2 way down the hall, I suddenly couldn't keep my balance and started bouncing off the walls, lurching down the Hall. I made it to the Living Room, fell into a chair and yelled for Sandy to come check me out.
We talked for a minute or two and she announced without ceremoney that I was going to the Hospital, period. I couldn't even walk to the Van! Two of the kids that were visiting, helped Sandy put me in the Van and away we went.
They didn't even bother with normal check-in proceedures, they just put me in the ICU and began an IV (don't know what was in it), gave me a couple of pills and told me to lay still while they gave me a shot of "Blood Thinner" meds.
Anyway, I was in ICU for three days and in a private room for one day, then they turned me loose, sent me home along with five prescriptions (my God they're expensive!).
So now I'm back home, still have to return to the Hospital occasionally so they can minitor the thinness of my blood. and I have an appointment on the 15th with the Doctor. Right side is still pretty weak (need a cane to get around for a while), but I think I'll make it.
