Apparently, our founding fathers thought all that jazz more impt. than the Bill O rights, which are all amendments to the Constitution, not existing in the original document (thus, being amendments).
I'm not sure that's exactly correct. IIRC, the issues developed in the Bill of Rights were discussed at some length at the constitutional convention. They were held out for later discussion because of their importance as well as the difficulty in reaching accord on them during the convention.
No, I think you're correct that the original bill of rights as a concept was discussed at the covention. My point was that they chucked it in order to achieve a working Union. The Nation was more important than the People, at that time. Not necessarily a bad thing, when trying to form a Nation, but all the same an expression of priorities (and of differing viewpoints amongst the framers).
