    Moose Crossing

I am not sure if the story that goes with this is accurate but the pictures sure are AMAZING!

    MOOSE STORY
The following pictures are of a moose that went through a car's windshield and out the rear window this month near South River, Ontario.

The VERY lucky woman driver ended up with just a broken wrist and needing a good bath. When you view the pictures you will wonder how the woman managed to survive.

She is a very lucky lady.
As for the moose, after hunting them for many years I have determined that they are not the brightest critter on earth. They do taste good though.

that story is absolutely true!! the woman ended up with only a broken hand and some cuts and bruises.

the other very interesting thing is that her husband was driving a car just behind her when the accident happened. hard to imagine his thoughts as the moose crashed thru his wife's car. very lucky lady.

I've heard from other motorcyclists that if you're riding through Canada you need to keep a sharp lookout for moose. You hit a moose on a bike and you're not going home with a broken hand and a few cuts and bruises.

A friend of mine was riding his motorcycle through Yellowstone at night (an emergency trip) and said that driving around the moose sleeping in the road was like driving in a gymkhana with hairy chicanes.

I have always wanted a mounted moosehead. I don't want one that bad!

I came close to hitting a deer on my bike at 80 MPH many years ago. I shook so hard I almost had to stop and get off my bike.

As everyone knows about the ROO Bars on trucks in Australia, trucks in Newfoundland have Moose Bars on them.
By folks rode their MC out there and were told to never ride at night unless absolutely necessary.
Here in Alberta we have a stretch of road known as Moose Alley. It's about a 100 mile stretch of 4 lane divided hiway in the wilderness and has some of the heaviest truck traffic anywhere around due to energy sector work. Our guys are not allowed to travel it during dawn or dusk and everyone installs the deer whistles on their front bumper.

Lots of moose up here, and that pic of the car looks entirely too familiar. Deer too, and black bears.

As to deer whistles, LOML has hit 7 deer in 3 years, and had the whistles on all 3 vehicles she's written off by doing so.

And loud noises don't work either. Not harley pipes, nor Jake brakes on big trucks. Moose will actually charge you if you honk your horn at them.

That is just amazing. I am sure that the woman was very shaken up. I know I would have been. She is also very lucky.
