forum windbag designation should be changed

although this isn't a "biggie", i think the forum administration group should consider a new moniker name for members with over 5,000 posts. i feel the title "forum windbag" reflects rather poorly on the sharing, knowledge and involvement of these members - even though i know it is meant entirely in jest.

i'm not a prude, by any measure, and i know that the term "windbag" is used in good faith, but, even after a couple of weeks now, every time i see this description next to a member's name - i can't help feeling it's not appropriate and somehow doesn't reflect the ideals we all care about on this forum.

one of the things that is great about the bt3central forum is the respect that everyone has for one another - unlike some other woodworking forums. i would like to see that continue to be represented in all areas associated with this forum.

i would hope that a more positive description might be seriously considered for members with over 5,000 posts - one that reflects the value of these members contributions to bt3central.

I think that that would be a much more suitable Title.

It's NOT a biggie and it was no doubt meant in jest; even so, I'm not sure "Forum Windbag" is a title to which many people will aspire. And if they do, as long as they are patrons (and folks with 5000 posts almost surely will be) they can choose it for themselves.

If you've not noticed it before, don't feel bad ... Sam unintentionally had a setting wrong and this patron-only option wasn't showing up for some patrons. I inquired about it and he fixed it lickety-split. So it could be that it wasn't there, last time you looked.

there's an old saying that i've never really listened to, but i should. it goes something like this:

"it's better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it"

i hadn't noticed that the option to change your moniker had been added recently - i now wish i had of course. just proves what a great new software package this truly is - a big, big improvement.

No way were you wrong in expressing your opinion about this.
Better to let it out rather than eat away at your innards. It also moved you closer to becoming said moniker, so it was quite proper to get the matter cleared up now.
Besides, I like listening to windbags. Amazing Grace is especially moving played only through bags of air.
