    Bike racing fans...

The Tour of California site has their live video feed working, more or less. It's pretty cool as the pics are coming from a motorbike following the race. They've also got commentary from Bob Roll and Paul Sherwen. It's sort of intermittent and doesn't really follow the pics, but it's cool nonetheless.

If they can get the site to do everything they're trying to do it would bring a whole new dimension to following these races from your PC.

click on the Live Race Coverage bar in the upper right.

    Enjoy.

I have been catching the coverage on ESPN 2, but they arn't actually showing it when they say that they are showing it. It's supposed to be on at 1am, but it was on at 2:25 am last night. grr...

Glad to have some decent bike races in this country finally, wish they were here 15 years ago when I was racing.

They are riding from Monterey to San luis Obispo on Thursday and staying overnight. I am going to go watch the start in SLO on Friday.

LOML and I are going to check out the start in Santa Barbara on Saturday, then motor back for the finish in T.O. I'm looking forward to it. With so many big stars in the hunt it stands to be interesting.

              thanks for posting this!!

isn't it funny that the sponsor of this race is the company that makes "epo" you know the stuff lance uses to dominate all the french "cyclists" lol

Careful, Rob, them's fightin' words with some members of this forum!

Yeah, there was a lot of controversey about Amgen being the title sponsor, most of it generated by Dick Pound, the head of WADA. I'm not usually give to fawning Lance Armstrong quotes, but I think he got it right in this circumstance. Amgen's drugs, including EPO, help millions of people recover from their cancer treatments. If the cycling community only thinks of Amgen in the context of cheating in sport, they're getting the wrong message.

                JR

Truth in lending - I'm an Amgen shareholder, formerly rode badly with their cycling club, and I believe they are a wonderful corporation and corporate citizen.

I believe the EPO was for fighting cancer, not for fighting the french cyclists. As to the evidance against Lance, it was entirely unsubstanciatable. But isn't it great that we'll still talk about it after he's retired??

I'm loving the race, not really "rooting" for anyone, because I'd love to see any of the top 5 win it. Floyd Landis' time trial was impressive.
