New Lathe, replaced my HF with a HF VS 15"

    Greetings all:
I’ve been away working on closing up the shop for the last few weeks. I’ve adding a lot of tools, mortiser, grinders and now a new lathe. I had one of the sheet metal bed ones (like the HF 38515) and sold that before the move and have been waiting for the 37406 to appear in a HF catalog again at $179, but while at the Ebay vendor (biddin-time) here in the Nashville area picking up my HF mortiser , I spotted a 37406 on a pallet, turns out he had a bunch, but all torn up, returns, damaged in shipping etc. and there around a corner was a gray HF lathe I hadn’t seen before, almost identical to the Sears 15 VS buts it’s a 90265, electronic VS rather than pulleys, no base, but with a nice sounding motor and great banjo and tailstock. I got it for $150 and ordered the bowl turning rest, tailstock chuck and Windsor tool set from the HF site. Does anyone own or have had one of these? The few mentions I found on the web for the Sears one show poor motor life. The HF site shows no details for the model. It seems a bit better than the green HF models in fit and finish. I plan to build a rolling base and dust collector features out of MDF rsn (Real Soon Now). I think I will pick up the Nova Midi chuck at the Woodcraft sale price of $99.
