    A Test Finish

    A copper Elegant Sierra wrapped in Hawaiian Koa. Finished with 6 coats of Walnut oil/med CA and buffed on the Beale wheels.

    Beautiful pen and choice of wood. The Walnut oil did great! Thanks for your posts on the subject of Walnut oil vs BLO.

      Did the ca cure the same as with the Blo? Did you apply the same way? ( looks great btw)

        I applied it the same way as if I was using BLO. The cure time surprised me as it was cold in the shop, I think quicker than when using BLO.

            Very nice, Dick. I'm going to be trying Koa later this week and may try your technique. Thanks for sharing.

              I picked up some walnut oil today and gave it a try. I liked the results. This was after three coats of walnut oil/thin ca with only the shop lights( no flash).
