Plywood/lumber storage cart

Does anyone have images or plans for a plywood/lumber storage cart, or know where I could find them? I'm looking for ideas and was told that I'd find something on this site. Any information would be appreciated.

Try this one built by Loring. I have most of my lumber on fixed racks but if I were to build a mobile one I would use this as my base design.

I always wanted to go this route, but have to yet find a plywood sheet expensive enough to justify the 'cart' :

Wood Magazine has a plan for one that I intend to build. The link appeared in the google image search that cabinetman posted. I'll cut mine down to about 53 inches long instead of the 96 inches called for in the plan, however. I only buy full sheets as needed and I don't want to crowd my shop when I don't have any on hand.

My wood rack is not on wheels, but could have been. Maybe you will at least get an idea or two from this photo.

Since sheet goods are 8'long, that is how long my rack is. That also makes it convenient to store lumber.

The saw is a late 80s Powermatic 66. I found the sliding table I wanted at the Atlanta woodworking show, and bought a used PM that it would fit on. There are nice ones available today, but this is the first one I saw that would cross cut 48".

Thanks - the rack is also much bigger than I had expected. At a glance, I thought it was for 1/2 sheets or Baltic Birch 5x5's. Very nice!

This is very similiar to the one I had in Arizona and the one I just built a couple of weeks ago. I made mine 66" long and used 1 sheet of 3/4" and 3 sheets of 1/2" in order to save money. I made it so that the bottom and the shelves were made from the 3/4" and everything else was 1/2". My thinking was that the shelves and the bottom were where the stresses really were and everything else was kind of braced by every thing else. Time will tell, so far it is working out well.
