    Router table size

I am wondering how many of you that have a homemade BT3 cabinet with your router table built into it actually use more than 20" of width for routing.
I am thinking of making my router table, at the opposite end from the saw, only 20" wide but lower than the BT3 top surfaces and want to know if I may regret that. the reason would be that I would have a modular insert with BT3 short fence that I could install on top of the router table section if I ever need to use the width.
My cabinet length is 7 ft with 2 full rail sets and about 24" of that is beyond the left end where the saw is, making the overall length with the rails about 9 ft.
The router will be at the far right end of the cabinet past where the BT3 rails end, hence, no BT3 rail over the router table. I have a soon to be modified Freud router fence that I plan to use.

    P.S.
