It's going really slow, with family requirements, weather and other hobbies taking up time. Lonnie had posted his shop-made bandsaw fence, and it looked fantastic. Problem was, I didn't see myself executing it correctly and I had resigned myself to getting a store-bought one. Not a fault of his design, I just didn't see it in my head like he did.
So I was reading the newest Shopnotes in B&N and right there in the readers tips section was a fence that called out to me. It used scrap I already had in my shop, I would only need to purchase the mag and a couple of T-track strips.
With the new layout, I'm now able to prep all of this inside, which with the current weather is mandatory. Even when it's not raining, it's still cold. It's still freeze-your-fingers-cold in the shop with the doors closed, but at least it's better than being out in the wind.
I jointed the two scraps of 2x4 to start out. It really helped that I did some tuning on the tables prior to, but I may need to do a touch more. Seeing as I really only needed two flat sides, planing them wasn't necessary. I then used my 21829 with a dado to plow out slots for the T-track and the outside riding edge. Next up was mounting it, so I drilled and counterbored holes to mount them to the sides of the table. M6 bolts and washers secured them.
Now to what is left: I need to dado a spot for the adjustable measuring track, and build the actual fence, which won't take long at all to do. I thought I had T-track on hand, but I forgot that I actually bought miter track for the table saw.
A couple of pics.
