With winter basically here (at least inside my shop), I'm looking for little improvements I can make to make my life easier once the weather gets warmer. I have some leftover prefinished (2 sides) birch plywood that I was thinking of either making a sled or a semi-permanent set of tables so I can plane some seriously thin stock.
First thought was just to put some cleats on it, along with hardwood bumpers on the sides (about 1/4" higher than the plywood), and just leave it for every scenario. I've also seen limited-use sleds for twisted or warped stock.
What's your preference?
