    Craftsman garage door opener problem

I have 2 Craftsman garage door openers, 139.53992. The 'rack', the plastic thing that rides the screwdrive went out on one. I took it off to verify that was the only thing wrong before ordering the part. In doing so, I messed up the UP and Down travel adjustment. The new part came with instructions (believe or not) on replacing the part.

As a result, the opener will run UP for about 30 seconds and will not reverse. The other door raises/lowers the door in about 14 seconds. I have tried several adjustments to no avail, even comparing the number of turns on each adj screw to the working door.

Does anyone have any other ideas? TIA

    Ken

Never mind......decided to open up the opener and found that a nylon gear on the limit switch has some missing teeth. Think I screwed around just a little too much.
