Pics of the fireplace project: Before:
First Coat: I was originally going to mix mortar and sand but discovered a premixed Quikrete product that was designed to do the same thing. It looks very brown. It will dry a lot lighter.
My question is the opening in the middle on the hearth has a blower motor. I will remove the blower and use the power for the blower on the woodstove insert I have. What is best (nicest looking) way to get the power to the woodstove? Come across the hearth and cover the wire with u-channel? Drill down through the top? Current thought is to extend the wire to one of the side openings through u-channel along the front hidden behind the moulding along the floor and drill down from the top then hook up there.
