Well, no stores near the Twin Cities have 'em. I dropped by just in case- I could use like 3 of them easily.... But if anyone needs wiper blades, they're clearancing the Rain-X blades for $3.50. I bought two 24"ers for my car, need to see if any other stores close by have the 20" ones to make 2 sets.Leave a comment:

Now if I could only find the MSUV's for $.01.......
At least I can dream.Leave a comment:

Actually about 90.00 originally. First time closed out at 44.00 each. A year later at 29.00, then final time, well, I guess next to final time
, at 14.99 ea. A penny each is unbelievable! Wish I could score some more, even at the 15.00 price. Jim.

No No No... I don't call the CS reps... I call and ask for the tool department. Then, when somebody answers, I ask them "You work in the tools department, right?" I was born in the morning, but not yesterday morning.Yeah, thatz correct Plus as if the customer service rep at the counter has any idea about Herc-u-lifts. The receptionist and the front-desk people are usually women who are so busy doing their job and they wouldn't care what deal the lifts are available for. No way I am also going to drive all the stores and waste gas on an item that is extremely rare to find.Leave a comment:

If you think I'm driving to ten different stores, you's crazy... And I didn't tell them they were marked down to some ridiculous price. I'm smarter than that. I only told them I heard that they might be closing them out, and did they have any gathering dust somewhere. Most of them said they haven't had this item in their store for a couple years or more.Leave a comment:

WTF!!?!??I know it was a joke, but I checked ebay anyway and my jaw hit the floor. It hope it isn't folks from this list that pay that much for one of these. One example of a completed sale (with 19! bidders):

I have four NIB from the $14.99 clearance awhile back, and, though tempted, I'm gonna use them, not sell them on ebay for a profit.

The last two times I had items to return it took about a half hour. The first time the computer had to be rebooted and the CS rep complained about how antiquated the computer system was. From now on, I won't buy anything at HD unless I am sure I am going to keep it.I just went to the BORG and had the worst experience of returning a ladder which was still brand new. It took me 1/2 hour to return it. That special order services crap is annoying. I am going to lodge a customer service complaint. Nowadays, theses special order reps keep dogging us. The service is getting worse and worse.Leave a comment:

Those kind of deals don't happen at any of the local BORG's here ... I know for a fact the staff snatch up a lot of the deals before any of us customers ever see them ... by BIL works for one of the BORG's and his garage and basement looks like a tool store as there is tons of stuff still sitting in boxes ...Leave a comment:

Oh, now that is just plain not fair!!
Glad I didn't know about that when I left to get the Bies this afternoon. I went by 3 HDs on my trip, and I would have hit all 3 of them for a chance at that deal! And probably out of my way to 2 others on a different route home if need be.
And I have 2 extra in the shop now, gave one away to a friend. I'll use one on the future router table, and one on the future portable planer stand. But I could always find uses for a couple more!!
Congrats on what has got to be the biggest (smallest?) gloat of all time!! Jim.Leave a comment:

Finding these deals are as much luck as effort.
Strolling through Sears before close on a friday night a while back, they had 3 old dusty boxes by the door marked "clearance. 2 of their 6" jointer, and a 15" drill presses. i thought i would faint when they rang up $74, and $66 respectively.
I bought them all on the spot!
It was all about cleaning out the stock room.
Being at the right place at the right time. Min effort.
As for the Herc-U-Lifts. I drove every where and bought a half dozen when they were at 14.90, then a half dozen more when they were at $8.70. Max effort.
Put one on my TS, BS, TP, RT, mini-mill, mini-lathe, and 2 on my jointer, and i still have 4 left. They are just so useful.
(PS im entertaining offers for the my extra 4)Last edited by axa; 08-24-2007, 10:07 PM.Leave a comment:

Unc,
Rule number one of bargain hunting is Never Call The Store. No offense, but if I worked there and you called and had me check for something that I saw was marked down from $50 to a penny, I'd tell you we're out of them and I'd be on the phone with my buddy to come get whatever was in stock
Call me greedy and dishonest, but don't call me dumb!
On a serious note, there's a 99% chance that they are out of them, but it's a non-inventoried item. I don't think it will come up as in stock anywhere. You would literally have to find it for them at the store. Like I said, I stumbled upon them as a result of them making room for some new promotional stock. There was other NOS items as I had mentioned in the orignal post that I have no use for. It's like they decided to clear out the crap that had accumulated under the bed. I'm assuming all stores will be doing this. Just my $.02. Good luck.
Greg
EDIT: I just checked Ebay. There are 14 Herc-U-Lifts that were just posted today in the mid-Florida area. Just kidding Cracker
