Leaving in the morning for Asheville, NC for a week. Already on the list are the Oktoberfest there and Biltmore Estate. What are the other attractions we should make sure we see while we are there?

Okay:
Biltmore House, take the behind the scene's tour, and the roof top tour, and then take the winery tour, have someone else drive...
the entire downtown is super neat, lots of art, and neat little shops
There is a latin restaurant in some sort of mall downtown, it is awesome... everything is fresh and wonderful

The Biltmore mansion is another site I really enjoyed even though I'm usually not into gawking at how the rich and famous live. It is worth the time and is right outside Asheville. There is a sports bar right on the main drag (huge block long building) that has some of the best white bean and chicken nachos.

Tupelo Honey Cafe in downtown, great food there.
Asheville is the beer capital of the East. If you enjoy beer (the Octoberfest reference suggests you do), check out some of the local beers and breweries. Barley's Pizza has a huge number of local beers on tap, Thisty Monk has great beers (downstairs is all Belgians, if you're into that), and across the street from TM is another source of great beers called Jack of the Woods. Asheville Brews Cruise is also a fun time, they take you to a few breweries and serve samples while you go behind the scenes.
A drive up the Blue Ridge is nice, especially if you're with a significant other. Stop at some of the attractions like Mount Mitchell, Linville Falls, Altapass Orchard, etc.Comment

In addition to what has already been mentioned, all in downtown Asheville: For woodworking, there is Asheville Hardware. If you're interested in local craftman made type stuff, the Grove Arcade is a good place to go and a cool old building. If you're into outdoor activities, there is the Mast General Store. And for a good Italian restaurant, try Vincenzo's.
When you're at Biltmore in the gift shops, make sure to sample the cream cheese ball. They have several flavors, and all i've tried are good.

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. We will be sure to check out as much as we can. Can't talk much right now though. Fixing lunch and then off to go horseback riding in the mountains.
