    ?Paid Subscription email ?

just got the following email ... is it legit?

    Dear BadeMillsap,

Your access to the paid subscription "BT3Sawdust Zone" is about to expire.

If you have selected a recurring subscription you will be automatically billed for the renewal, else to renew this subscription you must visit http://www.sawdustzone.org/payments.php

If you do not extend your subscription, access will be removed.

    All the best,
    The SawdustZone

and if if is legit what does it mean my access will be removed? I wasn't aware I had any special access ...

It's legit and only kind of true. Basically your patron status would expire so the nifty hand plane icon would disappear, as well as any of the other patron perks, custom avatar access to create a blog, not seeing adsense ads etc.

I probably need to go in a change the wording on that email; it is a bit terse. It looks like it either was restored to the default text during the upgrade ... or didn't exist prior to the upgrade and now vBulletin is sending out notices.

Note that other than the moderator forum, there is no private or paid section on this site. Everything is viewable.

THANKS for the info ... I'm always suspicious when I get this kind of email even if it SEEMS to be from somewhere I recognize. And I paid ...

To be safe, never click on a link in an email related to any type of financial transaction even if you are sure you know the source.

In this case I verified the exact wording and that your subscription was in fact about to expire before I posted that the email was legitimate.

Kudos to #twistsol for being on top of this! FWIW no ads, larger image storage, and unique avatar are some of the perks of being a patron member. If Patrons want more let us know and we will consider waht we can do to make it happen!

What they said, and WOW you guys are fast... Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I was spending quality time in my shop last night making sawdust. It would appear I have forgotten how to actually measure correct lengths though. Good thing this is just junk ply I am working with!
