I can't remember the last time spam didn't get caught by my IP. All of a sudden yesterday, I started getting invitations to go get a Russion princess.

I doubt that they are spoofing. All of the spammers IP's that I've traced report back as either Russia or Stockolm.

There are several tweaks that can be made with the forum's software but that decision is up to Sam. I could muddle my way through but since he is the IP pro it is best left to him.

I haven't even bothered to trace any IPs myself with this latest flood. I was just going on some of the reports I've seen on vbulletin.com and vbulletin.org.

I can recogonize any new spammer pretty easily from a custom field for registrations. We require an association members dart number in order to access certain private forums. All new spammers fail miserably filling that field out properly.

I won't fight you for her since I don't think my lady friend would appreciate all that royalty hanging around.

If they are all coming from the same IP address, you can block it in the .htaccess file.

Kind of tough to do. The server this site is running on is infected with the Microsoft virus.Netcraft Report on www.bt3central.com
