    Happy Easter!

Happy Easter (please replace with appropriate politically correct greeting).

These 'eggs' are actually turned hollow vessels. Spalted maple from the firewood pile, dyed with Woodburst stain (I used red, blue and yellow and mixed the other colors), and finished with Deft spray-lacquer. They contain chocolate eggs for the family.

After attending Alan Lacer's 'turning lidded boxes' class this was great practice, and the eggs turned out progressively better. Practice, practice, practice!

    This was a fun project.

I like it! I had thought about doing something like that but did not. Nice job.

Thanks guys! The 'kiddos' are all adult, but still liked it a lot. One of them (OK, brother in law really) will come next week to turn his second pen...
