Ken, as usual your work is pulchritudinous! (Yes, I got out my thesaurus!) It's amazing what comes from within the wood.

20!!! and a burl box!!! I think an intervention is required... obviously Ken isn't eating, sleeping, etc...

Outstanding angels Ken... I've started 1... not 20... just 1 LOL and the burl box is just amazing. I think we turn just so we can see what is hidden in the wood.

Really pretty box, I like the look of the burl, the angels are very nice also. Haven't turned any thing still working on setting up the winter shop.

Great looking stuff, Ken. Angels are hot items all the time. The burl sure is fine looking too.

Yes beautiful Ken. I agree, you are going to make us get our Thesaurus's out.

That box is special. Almost like you imbedded a burl rose in the center of it. It's great when little suprises like that happen.

I am going to have to get out the dictionary, I'm tired of saying absolutely beautiful.
    Yep, I agree.

I am also tired of saying.

    YOU SUCK!

Gotta find something new to say.
Nice box, and those angles are superb.

started a topic What a weekend!

    What a weekend!

What a weekend! I have made angles until I think I can now make them with my eyes closed! Dang that Nick Cook and his article anyway. Never let your wife page through your turning magazines. All together I made about 20 I think and out of those my wife pulled back 3 that she decided she could not part with.

The first one to the left is made from Ambrosia Quilted Maple and Brazilian Cherry, the middle one is Bloodwood and Narra and the one on the right is Black Walnut with Butternut. I played around with the shapes and sizes just a bit to see what I liked the best. I sure hope she donít make me turn another angle for awhile!

This is my favorite thing this weekend. I picked up a box of Maple Burl. It is cut sections right off of the burl and then kiln dried. Most of it still has the bark on it so you know what I am going to try! Anyhow this stuff is fairly hard to turn as it is soft maple and tears and shows tool marks very easily. I made a simple form box just to show off the figure of the wood.

Let me know what you think!
