    Creative belt sander belt failure.

So my storage shed that I had built less than 2 years ago, well it was built with and OSB ramp (?!) and I could tell that the OSB really did NOT enjoy life outdoors.

Went to home Depot, got some 3/4" pressure treated ply sized 4x4 and went for the replacement just to figure out they used 1/2" OSB.

Instead of wasting that plywood, I opted to taper down the edge at the door to allow the door to close and still use the 3/4" ply.

    But how to taper it?

Well I do still have that cheap Harbor Freight 4x24 belt sander, sure that will work...

I get about 90% of the way through sanding to thickness needed with the right enough taper when this happened...

I 100% have no idea how this could even happen, but here you go...

Just for reference these are Powertec sanding belts from Amazon, and they have been on the sander / in my shop for 2.5 years...

I hope you kept going. No reason you can't finish the job!

Now you have a 1" x 24" belt for your narrow belt sander.

Good thing they come in a 10 pack!

The new ramp is done and installed although still waiting on paint. We have a tropical system out in the gulf right now so it will have to wait until the storm passes and we assess what, if any damage we took...

For today, get gas for the generator. Fill my AquaTainers, all 7 of them.

Verify the Camplux pump still works, so I have the ability to pump / spray water for a shower, if not I might end up having to take sponge baths for a few days...

Fill the cooler with bagged ice. I washed it out already today so just waiting to ice it down...

Fill empty water bottles and stick them in the deep freezer.

        Test run the 2KW generator...

        Test run the 1KW generator...

Get some bread since I am almost out. Might just have to work with Tortillas who knows...

I found buying 10 packs is a waste if you only use a belt or two a year. The adhesive goes bad and the remaining 8 belts fall apart after short usage.

Well, the 10 packs on Amazon cost less than 2 at Home Depot... And I typically go through about 4 a year but I got slowed down...
